Lots going on for us at the moment, we’ve been in Palma for a build up to the Princess Sofia Regatta which starts on Monday. Its the first major event of the year and all the teams will be competing, so its a great chance for us to state our place in the pecking order! We're aiming for that podium!
This is by far the biggest fleet of a mixed event yet - 60/70 boats - so will be a tough one.
Wow, an intense 3 weeks of training out in Palma! Change of scene from Vilamoura to Palma to get us tuned into the conditions ready for the upcoming Princess Sofia regatta. We had a few days of team camp to get our heads in the game before the Mallorca regatta; 3 days, 9 races with a mix of conditions. We learnt a lot about the venue and types of condition, made some great moves, and made mistakes which we can learn from for the next regatta. Finishing 4th we have our eyes on the podium for Princess Sofia! To let all that learning soak in we took a couple of days off to explore the mountains (of which had a few too many uphills on the bike!).
We followed this up with a 5 day beasting from coach Elliot Willis! Countless short course races got us into race-ready shape in the final week of training before Princes Sofia. It was great to really focus in on racing intensity and awareness for a few days to sharpen us up before going to battle!
We arrived home last week slightly broken but satisfied! Now we have 4 rest days at home to collect our thoughts and rest before we head back out to do the final stages of event preparation; boat jobs, polishing, measurement and preparing ourselves physically and mentally.

We need the funds now more that ever to get that jump over our competition. We have a new boat on order for June which will use up half of our funding for the year.
